Matrin Maple 130 Photography Bag
HI Everyone, (And Victoria)
Firstly, thanks for reading my blog⌠didnât think anyone did
I got a request from a lovely person via facebook asking about a camera bag I bought last year ( this link here ) and what I thought.. so I thought Iâd write a little review on it.. as terrible as I am at these things, here goesâŚ
(itâs mostly a cut/paste from my reply) and Iâve added photos at the bottom.
I got it in Feb 2011, and still have it. I use it fairly often, and it’s been wonderful. Itâ is quite light weight at about 1.2 kg, which is very acceptable as it is a very well made and durable bag. I have it decided into 5 pouches, two either side and the centre for the camera body. It’s fairly deep, so it takes the Canon 70-200 nicely, and I pack a few more lenses and the 580ex2 flash in there also. It has ample internal side pockets for things like paperwork, accessories, memory cards, and so on, and a few good outer pockets also, namely one on either side where the shoulder strap joins on, perfect size that fits the standard side pump water bottles.. so always good for that
The only thing I would say, is that as it is a two-space wide bag, its a little big sometimes and I wonder about a single space, so i mean, to take a single lens and body, as opposed to two lenses side by side. just to make it a bit more slimmer.. but then I always want to carry a few different lenses so I never end up buying a new bag.
My main bag is a Lowepro Trekker Plus AW, which is fantastic, holds most all of my kit and randomness, and my old slimmer laptop, and I have used this to travel over seas with. I got that because it fits within the restraints of hand-held baggage compartment.
Images of the Martin Maple 130, 1.5 years after purchase and a lot of use.

Sliver
"My goodness, you are breathtakingly beautiful" He said, as she stood towering above him with the butcherâs knife at the ready…. " You are the reason poets bleed words upon papers dry as old bones, screaming glory into the cold night, harsh with the punishment of insanity, but to be calmed by your words drifting upon heat shimmers soothing the weary mind in this cold, lonely and baron heart of mine.".. He watched, hoped.. hoped that maybe something of her would remember…. even just a sliver of her…. BAM! then he died.
âDonât expect my gentle insanity would offer you glimpses of what used to beâ she mumbled, âdonât expect that Iâd even still care even if my memory was intact.. INFACT DONâT CONFUSE ME WITH LOVE!â she yelled, heated, heightened by the pure excitement of his bones crushing under her, reverberating though the floor, though her bare blood-soaked feet, making her calf muscles quiver harmoniously with her almost toned thighsâŚ. As she stood steady, blood raining from the knife, creating splatters of star-shapes on his shirt⌠DEAD. Exactly where you belong.
âbreath-takingâŚâ he moaned with this very last cubic ounce of breath.

Post-Editing
It’s interesting that more and more emphases these days is put onto what someone can do in post. 20+ years ago when I first started in Photography, it was all about creating that vision in real life, of-course post-editing software didn’t really exist then…. so one had too really try and create the elements of the shot in the material world so as to have it translate onto the film as the mind had dreampt it to be…. (sadly i never improved, but that’s not the point) so I wonder, if somewhere in time, the “art” of photography will fade away and all that will be left is vague digital interpretation of what was once a physical subject.
I thought about this, when I see the works Jean Fan on DeviantArt.com .
Now donât get me wrong, I have a massive respect for her work, and am in no way picking on herâŚ. itâs just she wrote a journal that was some very good âfood for thoughtâ material.. Journal Entry Is Here and thus. She is fantastic, and I love her works.
