Entertainment – Movies I’ve seen recently

20150208 042A1679122

Hello my little happy bunnies, here’s a few movies I’ve been watching lately.

They are in native languages, and require subtitles, unless you understand Japanese and Korean, then no problem.

There are in no particular order… just good fun interesting and somewhat twisted movies LOL

IMDB link first, then my thoughts, then (if available) a link to the trailer on YT.

I’d love to hear what you thought of the movies if you watch any, please feel free to sign up (its free and there’s no spam) and leave a comment or fifty 😛 share the love.. share this blog 🙂

0.5mm – AKA 0.5 miri – Japan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3825360/

Loved this movie for so many reasons.. it’s insane, funny, sad and loveable, and so much more, it takes us on a  journey with the main character who’s life gets turned upside-down because of a simple request by one of her clients… and needless to say, it sets up a journey of  exploration of the self, and how we might survive if we had to.

Departures – 2008 – Japan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1069238

This beautifully crafted movie is more chilled and easy paced and is based around a man who loses his dream job of playing cello in an orchestra, left at a loss for what to do with this life, he and his wife move back to his hometown, where they both run into unexpected people and the growth of a new life.

It does touch on an interesting aspect of life that I guess most of us never contemplate… I’ll let you watch and find out for yourself.

This is a beautiful movie, and I do highly recommend it 🙂

100 yen Love – Japan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4080598/

I’m not exactly sure about this one, mostly cause the core subject of the movie doesn’t interest me.. but hey… it’s about a woman who still lives at home with her parents, and is a no-hoper, who’m eventually finds an interest in Boxing….. Going to leave it there… lol, worth a watch if you’re really bored…

I’m a cyborg, but that’s Ok – Korea

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0497137/

This one had me in fits of laughter , i guess because I totally feel for the main leads, and can understand the need for escapism .. I’m going to leave it here, because you need to explore this beautifully crafted romantic-comedy for your selves 😛

Himizu AKA Themus – Japan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1900893/

I’m actually watching this now as I write this post, and I’m about half way through.. and shit, i’m really not sure what to make of it, honestly i think it shows a part of life and family that exists but no one ever talks about, especially bought to light in the wake of the Tsunami (which the movie is set .. well.. just after..) … this is a bit disturbing, but I guess, Once Were Worriers was also.. meh..

Cold Fish – Japan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1632547/

Another typical Sion Sono movie, and OMG it doesn’t fail to bring home the goods lol, this one, I really recommend you don’t eat beforehand and keep the kiddies away… It’s a blast.. it’s sick, twisted and just mental! love it! 🙂

Norikos Dinner Table – Noriko no shokutaku – Japan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468820

Yea, you guessed it, another Sion Sono movie lol, what can I say, I am enjoying these way too much LOL – this one did well at various film festivals and is basically about a girl who runs away from home because she is bored with her mundane humdrum life, .. she runs off to the big city (Tokyo) to meet up with some others she met on a BBS.. and boy, it gets weird from there …. This movie makes a lot of references to another Sion Sono movie called Suicide Circle which I watched a few years back… I believe it was based on a true story about a group of young school girls who all jumped in front of a train… who knows… it was fun! 🙂

That’s it my little bunnies… I hope some or all of these movies appeal to you, you sick twisted bunch of lovely humans 🙂
Have a great week 🙂

NZ Herald newspaper second most unreliable in the world

wpid-wp-1440360118128.jpeg

So there I was, casually watching a report about how a lot of media is contrived and faked….

and guess what i see…

NZ’s own NZ Herald news paper, listed as the second most unreliable source of news/facts in the world….  the ‘world’… i mean.. little old New Zealand ?? really ??

OK so it is owned by a corrupt media mogul, no doubt, and it’s level of journalism has plummeted to some really disgusting lows over the last few years, giving into political pressure, firing what few actual journalists they had left that had integrity, just goes to show how we are all being manipulated by Big Corp, and no doubt by political influence, just look at that complete waste of a life called John Key, after all he has done around the place before he got planted back into NZ and bought a place in politics.. *sighs* meh.

Here’s the screen cap, and then, the link to the video it came from.

New Zealand Immigration

image

update below:

Having an interesting day today..

Arrived at our internarional airport this morning to pickup a traveling international model, but it seems that good old New Zealand Airport Immigration are making things difficult.

So as I’m a nice guy and like to help…

I’ve talked to two different immigration agents on the phone.. (both times they called me by getting my number from the person in question, no probllem with that) … it seems that neither share a brain cell between them.. though in saying that, the second one (sounded like an English accent) was somewhat more polite than the first one who was just plain rude.

The first one rang and left a message ( I was driving so didn’t answer my mobile… arn’t I good) and then she took about 2 hours to ring back…. When she did.. she said she’d call back in two minutes (I just pulled into the car park and was parking)…. she never did… (and she was just as rude again) …

The second lady rang about 30 minutes after i parked…so much for 2 minutes….. we had a general conversation… like who am I.. how do I know the person in question. . Do I know what they will be doing while in NZ, etc etc .. all the usual questions.. then she cut me off and hung up the call… so with no way to contact them back… I dunno what else to do.  The Immigration office here at the airport is closed… no number to ring and no agents to ask……

I really do feel sorry for people coming to NZ … I understand immigration have a important job to do… but they don’t have to be fuck witted assholes about it… or maybe it’s part of the job requirement.. “oh you want to work as an immigration officer…sure… can you be a fuck witted asshole.. just like John Key?…you can.. excellent. . Welcome to your new job..” …  .. (.. ypu may ask.. who is John Key.. He is the current New Zealand Prime Minister .. who does very dodgy things…very very.. Google him)…

That attitude does more damage to the reputation of NZ than 1000 good reviews could do to support it especially when it happens to people working in media .. bad press and word of mouth travels fast in a small community …. there’s just no escaping it.

Now to be fair… I do only have (at this stage) 1/3 of the story…. and all I can do now is go do my usual stuff and wait to see if the person in question is allowed to enter New Zealand or not….    If so I’ll be sure to update this blog with more information. … If not.l, then I can only wait for an email from them when they return home (I assume).

Either way.. it’s lunchtime and I’m hungry and I’ve been here since 7 am.

More as I learn more.

:p

UPDATE:

So after a 4 hours, I get a text from the person in question, who is now been declined a visa to visit NZ.

After a bit of text chat, we find that she had the same experience as i did with the Immigration agent, finding her to be very rude.

I’ve gone ahead and managed to find a contact number for immigration via the airport, which was a headache as Immigration seem to really want to be uncontactable, i had to be somewhat rude to the airport operator to actually get them to transfer me, as they kept saying “Oh we can’t put you though , they don’t have a number “ … unbelievable.. because they did have a number…. obviously…

I spoke with a guy about the situation and he was polite but absolutely unhelpful, unwilling to make any sort of effort to assist (easy to tell by his accent he wasn’t kiwi born), often going back to the “we can’t discuss this unless we have permission from the person in question” who has given their permission already because immigration had already called me twice….

This is truly terrible that Immigration have yet again shown themselves as total uncaring assholes , nothing seems to change, and I truly feel sorry for any international traveler coming to NZ that has to deal with those idiots.

Well done New Zealand Immigration, yet again , you’ve proved your self to be a pack of mindless drones with no ability to think for yourself or help anyone… fucking well done.

(a backstory note)..

Just so you know that i’m not dealing with a one-off here.. I have experience with NZ Immigration and how they treat people, as I have a number of international friends, some who live/ work here, some who are students etc.. and I constantly hear horror stories about how they are treated by NZ Immigration, and i’ve even tried to help a couple of them and have experienced this first hand….   it’s a hard thing to do, to try and be there for someone who gets shafted by immigration and watch them as they see their life and what they have worked hard for (legally) get torn apart by an uncaring emotionally void asshole at immigration.

Rant end.

HI there happy Humans

Was out and about yesterday getting stuff done with a friend, when we found ourselves at:

The Gallery Cafe up in Kumeu

https://www.facebook.com/thegallerysushiandcafe

7/329a Main Road, Huapai, Kumeu, Auckland, NZ

P: (09) 412-8983

We stopped in for a coffee.

I’ve been there a few times before, cause I really like their coffee and enjoy looking at the photos in the cafe!  (see the Facebook link above)

What ended up happening was quite surprising…

After ordering food and drinks, I was approached by a gentleman asking if he could take my photo because he liked my beard 😛

Well, why not, i’m game for being on the other end of the camera for a change, and it was actually quite an honour because

the photographer was non other than Charlie Yang, … a highly skilled and respected photographer, who’s work always blows my mind.

It was fun!, I have to admit, it felt totally weird too, but I guess I know how models feel now 😛

Anyways, he was kind enough to send me one of the images….
